Learn English Through Football Podcast: 2019-20 Champions League Group Stages

Introduction

DF: You’re listening to Languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast. Hello everyone and welcome to the Learn English Through Football podcast; the podcast for all those who love the beautiful game of football and who are aiming to improve their English language skills. My name is Damian and I am in a sunny London and thankfully feeling a little better than last week when I lost my voice which resulted in a delay in posting our podcast – apologies for that. Now down the line in Tokyo we have Damon – how are things there?

DB: Well, your voice sounds perfect now, Damian! Good to hear you’ve recovered. I’m well, too and I’ve been enjoying the weekend’s domestic football. As I said last week, it’s not that easy to watch the internationals over here in Japan, but how about you, did you watch any football?

DF: Yes, I did. I saw a couple of international matches including that England versus Kosovo qualifying game which was a great game to watch. It finished 5-3 to England in a real end-to-end game – fantastic fun! I also watched Liverpool’s game yesterday – did you see it?
