Liverpool on the path to a sixth

Liverpool should beat Bordeaux tonight with little difficulty. They have a fantastic record against French clubs at Anfield and Bordeaux are hardly setting Ligue 1 on fire, currently languishing in 8th place – mind you that’s the same as Liverpool in the PL – Hmm… scrub that last comment.

Rafa is urging his players against complacency, and is set to field a changed side for the 100th time as if to reinforce his point – no players place is safe.

I can see this a 2-0 victory for the Reds, with Gerrard and Riise on the scoresheet – Gerrard burying rumours that he wants to move club.

  • A couple of good results for Liverpool might bring that 2005 feeling back again. Who knows, a nice draw after the group stages and the Reds will be four games away from glory in Athens, 2007.

    damianf – groups B, F and H are hardly the most challenging either. And remember, there are no easy games at this level…
