2007 Transfer window: Tottenham

The transfer window has finally opened and clubs have until the 1st of February to buy, sell or borrow players to help change or save their season. For some reason Tottenham always seem to be heavily involved in the rumours surrounding transfer dealings at this time and this year is no different.

Though the window has only been open for a few days we have been linked with Gareth Bale (Southampton), Giles Barnes (Derby), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Darren Bent (Charlton), Ashley Young (Watford), Matthew Upson (Birmingham), Curtis Davies (West Brom) all young British players which may suggest that Martin Jol is returning to the policy of a couple of years ago. There are also rumours that Defoe, Keane, Murphy, Routledge, Gardner and Davenport may also be leaving though Jol has stressed that the two forwards are not going anywhere.

What do we need? A left back, left winger and someone to make our midfield tick like Michael Carrick used to. Not much to ask for is it?
