Poll: Which team will win the 2020 Europa League?

[gss-content-box color=”gray”]This season’s Europa League re-starts on Wednesday August 5th when the remaining matches from the last-16 take place – some of these are one-off ties while others are playing their second legs. There are three teams from Germany, two teams from England, Italy and Spain and one each from Scotland, Greece, Denmark, Ukraine, Switzerland, Austria and Turkey. After this round, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will take place in Germany (Arena AufSchalke, MSV Arena, Stadion Köln and the Dusseldorf Arena) over the following two weeks and similar to this season’s Champions League will only feature one tie – no home andA  away fixtures – which means it’s a pure knock-out competition. Remember of course that the winners of the final in Dusseldorf on August 21st will also compete in next season’s Champions League tournament. Let us know who you think will win by voting in our poll below. If you have questions or comments then you can email us at: admin@languagecaster.com and we can mention them on our podcast.

Which team do you think will win? Sevilla will be hoping to add to their five wins in this competition – a record – and their form after lockdown has been impressive as they qualified for the Champions League. Inter are another side with a strong tradition in this tournament – they have won it three times, while other former winners still in the competition are Roma who won the Fairs Cup in 1961, Manchester United who won in 2017, Shakhtar Donetsk (in 2009), and two of the German sides Eintracht Frankfurt and Leverkusen who lifted the trophy in 1980 and 1988 respectively. Wolves – beaten finalists in 1972 – recently-crowned Turkish champions Ä°stanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir and Spanish side Getafe will fancy their chances of lifting their first European title.
