What does “build” mean in football?
48 min: Germany build from the back, pinging the ball over and back across the halfway line.
Hi Dwi,
When teams build from the back it means that they are slowly/patiently passing the ball around the back four (defenders) until they find a space or an area to attack the opposition. Teams who build (or construct) attacks from the back are different from those who are more direct in their play and use long balls.
