Learn English Through Football Podcast: 2018-19 – Premier League Week 2

DB: You are listening to languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast.A Hello and welcome everyone to the podcast for all those interested in improving their English skills and who love the beautiful game of football. My name is Damon and I am based in Tokyo, which is still sweltering under the summer sun. Hopefully things are cooler but still sunny in London, where Damian is based. Damian? How’s the weather, and more importantly, how much football did you watch last week?

DF: Hello Damon, good to hear from you. It’s definitely a lot cooler here in London and after a week of rain today we have some blue skies and sunshine. Yes, I watched a lot of football last weekend on the opening day of the season, including both your favourite team Liverpool and my favourite team Tottenham’s wins. I also managed to catch Manchester City’s away win at Arsenal and even saw a little of newly-promoted Wolves drawing with Everton. Did you catch any of the games, Damon?

DB: I managed to watch a couple of games live on Sunday, Liverpool v West Ham and Arsenal v Manchester City. OK, but that was last week and this is this week – so what’s on the show Damian?
