Languagecaster Predictions: Day 3 – Saudi Arabia 2-1 Argentina

football languageIt’s day three of the 2022 World Cup and the biggest shock so far – maybe even of the tournament itself – is that Saudi Arabia, ranked 51 in the world, defeated joint favourites for the trophy Argentina. They even did it by coming from behind and the winning goal was a stunner. Not one of our predictors picked up a point from this match as no one predicted that the Saudi side would win. Not many people went for a draw in the Denmark vs Tunisa match though two players Madek and Teddyballgame did go for a 1-1 draw so one point each there. Two people did predict a scoreless draw between Mexico and Poland – so Adey and Nick will be thanking Robert Lewandowski for missing that second-half penalty. So, with not many points being scored today, the top of the table has not changed too much. Three players are on 10 points (including James and Brooking’s Boys) with two more on 9. Tomorrow sees another four matches including Morocco against Croatia and Germany against Japan. Get your scores in now! • One point for the right result. For example, if the game between England and Wales finishes 1-1 and you chose a different score but the right result (e.g. 0-0; 2-2 or 3-3) then you will receive 1 point.
  • For knock-out games the scores are up to 90 minutes – not extra time.
