The languagecaster team have signed us up for a seven-day challenge with @CambridgeWords which is the Twitter handle of Cambridge Dictionary who wondered whether people can find examples of seven different words with seven different prefixes over the next seven days. I accepted the challenge but added another layer of difficulty – only using football terms.

      Day 1 – unplayable
I started off with the term ‘unplayable‘. Any more with ‘un’?

Prefix Challenge: Day 2 – Over
To overturn a decision This is used by referees when they change a decision and is becoming more common with VAR.

An over-hit pass – a pass that is too strong, has too much power, which makes it difficult for the other player to control or collect the pass.
