Transcript

Today’s weekly football phrase is the word pulsating which is an adjective used to describe a very exciting game, one that goes from end-to-end. The verb to pulsate means to throb or to beat rhythmically and so if a game has few pauses we can describe it as having a high tempo or rhythm or that it does not pause for breath – it is pulsating. The recent Premier League matches between Stoke and Tottenham and Liverpool and Arsenal were described as pulsating due to their end-to-end nature. A pulsating game.
