Learn English Through Football Podcast: 2019-20 Aston Villa vs Liverpool
DB: You’re listening to Languagecaster.com’s football-language podcast. Hello everyone and welcome to the Learn English Through Football Podcast – the podcast for all those who love the beautiful game of football and who wish to improve their English language skills. My name’s Damon and I’m based in Tokyo, Japan, where we’ve had some nice autumnal weather recently. I was been unable to join the podcast last week, apologies for that, and this week, Damian is also unable to join live but has pre-recorded a message and some sections of the show. Here he is.
DF: Hi everyone, this is Damian – unfortunately I cannot be live on the show this week but I have been able to record some comments, including an explanation of the football phrase, ‘fitness test‘. I’ll also be asking a football-language quiz question which features phrases that mean to beat a player and of course I’ll be attempting to increase my lead at the top of the predictions table when I’ll be talking about games in the Champions League, La Liga and the Premier League.
