Football Glossary – (a) Shut-out

glossaryThis is the American equivalent of a clean sheet, i.e. when one team does not concede any goals in a game.
  • Example: LA Galaxy had a shut-out against Portland at the weekend when they won 2-0.
  • Example: New York earned a 2-0 shut-out last week.
