Pundit

A pundit is an expert on football who usually appears on TV or radio to give opinions and comments about a game. This pundit is quite often a former professional player though sometimes it can also be a journalist (or a podcaster 🙂 ).
  • Example: Former Scottish international Alan Hansen is a BBC pundit, though Damon and Damian both think that they are better than him!
  • Example: The pundits felt that Barcelona would be too good for Manchester United.
  • Example: ‘Pundits make their Manchester United vs Brighton and Hove Albion predictions’ (Manchester Evening News, April 4 2021).
