Hello Grell and Damian. What do the following words mean? Snap shot. Knock down. To power his way. To get off a shot. I think to power here means to kick the ball hard. But I don't understand the phrase. 54' Unlucky from Commons as he tries a snap shot in the box from Griffiths' knock down but it's sliced wide. 27' Sow powers his way past the Celtic defence and gets off a shot but it's narrowly wide of Gordon's left post. Still 0-0 at Tynecastle.

  • Snap shot is a shot that is taken really quickly - a first-time shot
  • A knock down is a pass from a colleague - usually a header
  • To get off a shot is similar to fire a shot or to shoot (usually under pressure)
  • To power past is to beat a man with strength rather than skill or technique.
