What does "shocker" mean in football?
Leicester 0-0 Watford
Almost a shocker for City.
Jonny Evans and Kasper Schmeichel don't talk to each other and allow a ball to drop between them in the box. Joshua King gets a boot to it but not enough to steer it to goal.

A shocker in football refers to something really bad - a bad performance, a bad miss for example. We can hear the phrase 'have a shocker' to describe a really bad performance from a player (see also have a mare/nightmare). In the example above the shocker refers to the bad defensive pass that almost let in the forwards.
