What does "ride a challenge" mean?
8' GOAL! FODEN! 1-0. It's a poor goal for Leeds to concede. Rodrigo rides a number of challenges and finds himself clean through! Meslier rushes out to knock it away from the midfielder, but it falls to Foden on the edge of the box and the attacker slots it past Dallas's despairing block and into the net!

To ride a challenge means to get through a challenge or to beat the challenge and continue with the ball. Another way of saying this would be to shrug off a challenge or a tackle. In the example above, Manchester City's Rodrigo has got past two or three challenges to then attack the Leeds goal.
