What do the bold words mean in these sentences?

15‘ The visitors manufacture a counter-attack, however, Amoo drags his low strike wide of target.

74 min Rooney dropping deeper and attempting to orchestrate from the centre of the the field. Pinging well-pitched balls, mostly to the right wing, but they're not leading to much. Olympiakos replace Salino with the extravagantly moustached Paulo Machado.

  • To manufacture an attack means to start or create an attack.
  • Orchestrate is similar in that it means the player is creating chances
  • Well-pitched balls is not so common but would mean 'well passed' - the passes (or balls) would consistently reach their target.
