There are several phrases I don't understand in the following match report. Could you explain the words in bold mean?

Manchester City vs Newcastle
City turned the screw, with De Bruyne in one of those moods when he injects pace and purpose with his every involvement. He drove with the ball at his feet, leaving black‑and‑white shirts in his wake, while his passing was the classic mix of fizz and precision.

  1. To turn the screw means to increase the pressure on the opposition. City are constantly attacking and not allowing their opponents to relax at all.
  2. One of those moods: Here this means that De Bruyne is playing at a high level - we recognise this from the way he plays (he is in the mood = he really wants to do something).
  3. To inject pace: This means that he added some pace - he moved quickly.
  4. Leaving someone in their wake means to leave them behind (here it is because he is moving so quickly). In this example he left the Newcastle defenders behind because he was so quick.
  5. Fizz is when a player hits the ball very hard as a pass - to fizz the ball into the attacker means to hit the ball hard and accurately to the attaker (on the ground rather than in the air).
