I heard the commentator say "charging/driving run". What does it mean?
Southampton 4-4 Liverpool (90 + 3 mins) And Salah almost wins it for Liverpool again, but his charging run/driving run finishes with his shot going wide.

When a player runs with the ball (or dribbles) in a direct manner, i.e. straight towards the goal, then we can say that they are on a driving or charging run. This also has the meaning that the player is moving fast and probably with a lot of strength (and with the ball at their feet).
So we can say that Salah ran a long way with the ball past (or maybe through) some defenders before shooting.
