We have had a question about two Spanish terms 'desmarque de ruptura' y 'desmarque de apoyo' which we think are connected to losing your marker but we are not 100% sure. Are there any Spanish speakers out there who might help?
Desmarque de ruptura (ruptura=break)
I don't know what's the name of that in English, but it's the action a forward does when he receives a through pass. So, suppose there are two forwards: forward1 and forward2. Initially, both are behind the defenders, forward1 has the ball, and forward2 runs ahead of the defenders getting closer to the goal, then forward2 receives the ball without being offside. But if he runs too quickly, he will be offside.ÂÂ
Basically, forward2 breaks the defender's line. So, yeah it's to lose the mark but in a special case.ÂÂ
Desmarque de apoyo (apoyo=support)
In this case, forward1 wants to pass the ball but he didn't see anyone free of a marker, so forward2 gets close to forward1, so it can receive easily the pass.ÂÂ
Forward2 is trying to help forward1.ÂÂ
