Quadruple: In football the quadruple refers to winning four different trophies or competitions.
Fixtures: A series of matches; a set of games to be played. The fixtures for the football season in England usually appear in June.
Confederations Cup: A FIFA-run tournament that started in 1997 and which is held in the year before every World Cup.
Qualify: To progress to the next round. In order to play in important tournaments or rounds teams have to play and win a set of preliminary matches.
Premier League: The top division or league in England, which replaced the old Division 1 in 1992.
Quarter-final: The last 8 of a knock-out or cup competition, i.e. there 8 teams left in the tournament.
Qualifier: Games played to decide which teams progress to the main tournament or knock-out stages of a competition. A game to qualify for something.
Serie A: The Italian top league / division. The equivalent in Germany is the Bundesliga and in England is the Premier League.
Scudetto: Name for the Italian league title (Serie A). It refers to a the winning shield. Teams in Serie A play for the Scudetto.

FA Cup: English knock-out competition for club sides. The oldest football tournament in the world. It is organised by the Football Association (FA).
Division: In regular season play, teams play against other teams in divisions or leagues: different tiers that are based on merit.
The UEFA Cup – A club competition for European clubs though not as prestigious as the Champions League; The Europa League. Juventus, Inter Milan and Liverpool have all won the UEFA Cup three times.
Under-21 – European international tournaments for players under the age of 21. The Olympics allows players that are under 23.
