Asian World Cup Qualifier: Thailand 2-3 Bahrain

The latest home defeat to a team from the Gulf, this time Bahrain, has meant the Thai national team’s World Cup qualifying hopes have all but disappeared. Played in extremely humid conditions and in front of only a half-full Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, the home side played all the quality football but a lack of concentration at key moments in the match ensured the Thais stay rooted to the bottom of the group without a win. Though it is still mathematically possible for them to make the final group stage nothing short of a miracle is now required if the Thais are to qualify for their first ever World Cup finals.

With Japan defeating Oman 3-0 it looks as if they will join the very physical Bahraini side to the final group stage though on this performance the Gulf state will not be troubling any teams in South Africa in 2010. But at least they are still in with a chance unlike Thailand who yet again failed to give their football-crazy fans something to really cheer about.

Asian World Cup Qualifier: Japan 3-0 Oman

The Japanese national side played an Asian Qualifier for the South Africa World Cup 2010 on June 2 in Yokohama, which they won 3 - 0 against Oman. In this match, Shunsuke Nakamura (Celtic) and Daisuke Matsui (Saint-Étienne) played very well and I really admired their performances. They are definitely the key-players for Japan!! In five days, Japan will have another match against Oman but this time Japan is the away team and it will be really hard to get used to the temperature and climate of Oman as it is so humid there now. It will surely be a tough game but Japanese people hope that we will win the game!! Don’t miss it!!

World Cup Qualifier for free

The 2010 World Cup will be held in South Africa

On seeing my difficulty in trying to buy a ticket for the World Cup Qualifying Asian section match between hosts Thailand and Oman, some kindly soul felt pity on me and handed me a free ticket - as long as I supported Thailand of course. This typical act of Thai generosity came after I had walked around the very impressive Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok twice in a vain attempt to find the ticket booth that every security guard and stadium worker I asked told me was just around the next corner.

Japan - Bahrain

On March 26, The Japan National Team will have a match away against Bahrain the most dangerous team in Group 2. The last match against them was on March 30, 2006. It was a really tough and hard game but fortunately, we won the game but the score was only 1 - 0. This time will also not be easy and will be very tough again. We can not lose the game because if we do it is a long distance to attend the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

We hope that Japan win the game, definitely!!
