Nowadays it is easy to hear TV or radio presenters talking about team’s chances, players’ progressions, and stuff like that… as if it was all like a PC or Play Station game. But football is bigger, better and more unpredictable than their minds can imagine, and we all would do right by ignoring them, and thinking for ourselves. As years go by, there are things that remain untouchable in “Can Barça”, one of them is the priority of the style over results. Yes, certain managers did not follow that, but their steps in this club would not be remembered with so much enthusiasm.

The Rijkaard era has finished, with its lights and shadows, and a new season has come with lots of changes in “Can Barça”.

Josep Guardiola, one of the favourite sons of FC Barcelona, has taken control of the first team to manage a hungry group of players, after two years without titles. He spoke clearly on his presentation, “I can’t promise anything but sacrifice, solidarity and ambition”. Guardiola proved that he is a man of his word, he has changed the “auto-managing” philosophy of Rijkaard into serious and hard training, with strict laws in the changing-room, and an almost insane frenzy in preparing matches. continue
