About

damian and damon imageWelcome to Damian and Damon’s football podcasts - for all football fans

The idea behind this site is simple. By listening, reading and writing about something you enjoy - football - you can improve your English language skills. Follow the Premier League in England, and the big news stories from football around the world and learn English.

Both of us love football, although only one of us knows what they are talking about, which was proved after we started a World Cup podcast for Germany 2006.

Who are we?

Damian Fitzpatrick

I was born in London but grew up in Ireland and I am a Tottenham and Ireland fan. I have been playing, watching and talking about football since I was 5 years old so it kind of makes sense to do something like this. When I am not thinking about football I am teaching English at Obirin University in Tokyo, Japan and attempting to finish a doctorate in education.

Damon Brewster

I was born and brought up near Chester in the north west of England. I have always loved playing and talking about sport, especially football and rugby. Growing up in the north west in the late 70s and 80s I always wanted to be Liverpool’s Kevin Keegan when we played football in the park.
I moved to Japan in 1993 and still live here with my wife and daughter teaching English.

THANK YOU

We would not be able to put together this website without the help of friends, colleagues and family members. So a big thank you to those who have written blogs and comments, patiently agreed to be interviewed, helped with translation, given up their time for the site, proofread the transcripts, given suggestions (helpful or otherwise!) or simply passed on the word about the site to others.

Thank you indeed.
