Good
We have only reached day four of the tournament and already three teams have laid down clear markers by winning their opening matches in impressive style. First up it was Portugal who easily dispatched a poor Turkish side 2-0. Then the Germans did the same to Poland with Luka Podolski scoring a brace but perhaps the most outstanding performance so far has been the 3-0 destruction of the current World Champions Italy by the Dutch last night. A football master class.

Bad

Alex Frei the Swiss captain is badly injured in the defeat against the Czech Republic and will miss the rest of tournament. Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak is also out of the tournament and with key player Andrei Arshavin out through suspension, Guus Hiddink’s men may have their work cut out to qualify.

No red cards yet though Damon wonders how Makélélé fouls his way through a game and yet did not receive even a yellow card in the France Romania bore draw last night. (source - Damon

Ugly
On our last show, we mentioned the rivalry that exists between Poland and Germany and unfortunately it got out of hand on Sunday as trouble flared between the two sets of supporters resulting in almost 200 arrests. Pretty ugly indeed.
